KAYAKING WAS AWESOME!!! The weather was perfect.  I went with Justin, his brother Zach, Hiroko and Niraj...Sooo much fun...Good thing I didn't flipped over...hehehe...Great food at the Constantino's as always... Paul Tenorio and Paul Anciano chilled with us that night...We took sooo many hilarious pictures...Coming up soon!!!

Also, I've talked to many people and we're pushing for Great Adventures sometime on the last week of August.  Preferably a weekday so we don't have to wait too much.

Ok...hasta luego!!!

Wonder Retreat went well...had tons of fun especially with my small group--- "The Simpsons."  Justin, Chris and I brainstormed a lot for future FIC fundraising events, activities and everything else to make FIC more fulfilling.

An FIC tradition returns!!!  KAYAKING this weekend at South Jersey at the Oswego River at Chadsworth.   With 6 or more people, we'll pay around $20...if less than that, we'll pay $26... weather looks PERFECT!!!

If you need a ride let me know asap so I can arrange carpool for you.  Come and bring your friends!!! It'll be a lot of fun!!!

Okay...gotta eat lunch for now...

Take care!!!

It's sooo nice to be back home...no more worrying about what to cook and what to eat!!! hehehe... I miss real home- cooking and not noodles, corned beef, tuna, etc.

Summer has been going well for me...classes are too expensive for what they offer... I'm taking Broadcast Newswriting and Intermediate Spanish...We get dismissed early most of the time(DOY!!! I need to learn more Spanish!!!)

BRIDGES website is here!!! Click to see the participants, our stories and lots of pictures!!! (Esp. "People" and "Pictures")

www.rci.rutgers.edu/~bosacchi/bridges

I still have a lot of my own pictures that I want to scan...but the genius that I am, forgot it all at Bartlett...maybe next time...

Please pray for Julie- she is a very good friend and my future roommate...she just had her surgery and she lost 14 counts of blood...but she's recuperating right now...All prayers help!!! Thanks!!!

Hasta luego!!!

Hi!!! Long time no weblog!

Hmmm...summers go so slow especially with this baking temperatures...

Anyway, last weekend was great!!! We finally have a theme for FIC- Family in Chirst...we still have to polish some ideas but I am glad that the e- board is working together to put words into action...

First cook- out at Bartlett last Friday!!! We had rice, spam and salad (Thanks Kathryn!!!)...geez, we really have to start bringing in pots and pans...residents have been starving there...hehehe...

I finally got to meet Amanda (Justin's sister) and their Lola...they are sooo cool!!! It was so funny how Tita Chuchi and Lola were trying to make her wear this horrible dress for the wedding (you know...like dress from another era...hehehe). It reminded me of how my mom was to me and my sisters (parents want you to look like them!!!)...so we stormed out of the house and bought some nice dresses and strappy sandals in less than 15 minutes!!! Fastest shopping ever!!!

So it was raining hard...bad directions made us miss the wedding at Jersey City...but that's okay coz we stopped at Philippine Bread House for some tasty delicacies...So while munching some empanadas, we had a convoy going to the reception area at Little Falls...Open bar, delectable buffet and some dancing made the overcast night better...

Then, we headed to Lew's Graduation Party at Sheraton Parsippany...nice to see a lot of old faces...we basically danced (and sat/observed) the night away... I enjoyed the great music and crowd...

Sunday was a mass dedicated for Hillside residents who are celebrating their 25th, 50th and 75th wedding anniversaries this year...my parents were there (it's their silver anniversary on Dec. 24)...you don't seem to notice time when you're enjoying life, right?

I got a part- time job for a traffic survey...been counting occupants of vehicles in Manhattan (outbound lane in Lincoln Tunnel) and been identifying vehicle types (based on wheels)in Bronx... not to mention, oggling at Mercedes, BMWs, Jaguars, Ferraris, Lincolns, Lexus, etc...$10/hr is not that bad...got to observe so many other things too...hehehe...

This weekend is moving day--- will I stay at Bartlett or Delavan??? I'll know tomorrow...

Until then...

My Impression of Bridges Trip (Summer 2003)

“Live simply so that others can simply live.”

This powerful quotation embodies the lesson I have learned from the two weeks I spent at the welcoming community of La Cuchilla.  Everywhere I looked from the lush mountains to the innocent eyes of the children are captured by God’s generous gifts- simple blessings yet abundant in beauty, faith, hope and love.

In this trip that bridged first and third world countries, I have learned that the real value of life is not success gained by material wealth but success earned by profound joy of enjoying life to its fullest, loving your neighbors, sharing everything when you have next to nothing and gratefully receiving every piece of good fortune.

When our mission finally came to an end, I was deeply moved to see the people’s caring smiles turn to heart- breaking tears as our truck drove away from the place I now call as “home.”  My new- found family and friends have touched my entire being in a level I have never expected.  I felt that a significant part of my soul is still alive in the remote mountains of Dominican Republic and I can’t wait to get it back.
